Alloy 20 is also called Carpenter 20, and It is a nickel-iron-chromium austenitic alloy that has been designed to resist acid attack, particularly sulfuric acid. This superalloy is resistant to general corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion. It also resists chemicals containing sulfuric, phosphoric chlorides. It also has niobium to stabilize against intergranular corrosion and sensitization.
This alloy is designed to resist the acid attack, primarily sulfuric acid. This alloy has a very high general corrosion resistance. It is also resistant to crevice corrosion, pitting into chemical-containing atmospheres. It is resistant to phosphoric acid as well as nitric acids. It also contains niobium to prevent sensitization.
